Hi! I'm Whitney. I opened The Stone Fish when
I was nineteen, with the help of my loving family. I have been
open for five years already! It's hard to believe it's been that long!
When I decided to open my own store, I had two main goals in mind. Number
one, I did NOT want to simply
buy and sell, because virtually anyone can do that. It
was important to me to sell one-of-a-kind items straight
from the artists hands.
My second goal was to create an atmosphere that would slow the rush of everyday
life. Choosing beads, and
creating your own work of wearable art can be
quite meditative.
So stop by sometime! Come sit at one of my tables in The Beaders' Cafe! Be
creative, relax, and have fun. Of
course I am always here to help with
any assembly or design questions. I love meeting people. It is
rewarding
on so many levels to see how creative folks can be.
Bring friends! I offer all kind of parties and classes, no experience necessary! (see
the schedule on the Classes
& Events page) There
are so many beads to choose from, and
since our newest renovation, they are all
organized in a way that will
help the
artist in you be more creative!
I craft most of the jewelry I sell myself, and I stand behind the integrity
of each piece. But I am more than just a
jewelry or bead store! You
will find lots of unique gift items at The Stone Fish. I
try very hard to choose items
that no one else in the area has. I choose
items that suit my style, my sister's style, my mother's, my
grandfather's, etc. I
work very hard to offer beautiful things that are hand made, and that cover
a broad range
of tastes.
I also have the good fortune of selling one-of-a-kind lampwork
beads made by my boyfriend, Kyle. Kyle's beads
are unlike any other,
and as a third generation glass artist, Kyle's beads make a statement on any
piece of
wearable art.
Stop by and visit. Bring a cup of coffee. Slow
down, and relax a bit. Have some YOU time.
Until then,
Happy Days
Whitney
